In Las Vegas, Nevada veterans marched while holding signs and banners and chanted “No More Wars!”  One banner they carried read, “PLEASE STOP MILITARIZING OUR EARTH.”  One person who identified herself as an organizer of the Las Vegas parade called police to remove the veterans.  Despite possessing and presenting their permit to march, police and organizers ignored the participation proof and threatened the veterans with arrest.

In Denver, members of Veterans for Peace from Boulder, Colorado Springs, and Fort Collins carried their organization flags and banner.  Travis Weiner, an Iraq War veteran told The Nation Report that it was good that there were great people at the parade supporting veterans, “But what gets lost is an implicit glorification of war, glossing over of what is patriotic.  What does it mean to support veterans?  Part of VFP’s position is, what is more supportive of veterans than working and advocating for an end to these terrible wars of choice that cause them so much harm and have nothing to do with keeping us safe most of the time and nothing to do with protecting the homeland or fighting for freedom.”
