Speaker:  How to Make Peace with North Korea

Eric Sirotkin of the National Campaign to End the Korean War will speak about a new approach with N. Korea, one that builds relationships and reduces tensions, rather than marching toward war. He believes It is time to reject rather than escalate the militarization of Korea, to talk more, not less, and to formalize relations, not as a reward, but as a necessary preventative measure.

Free Backyard Compost Workshops Held throughout Boulder County

The Boulder County Resource Conservation Division is sponsoring four compost workshops in various locations throughout the county. These events are free and open to the public. Registration is required as space is limited.

Registration can be completed at www.BoulderCountyRecycles.org

Participants will learn how to start and maintain a highly efficient backyard compost system, including what to feed a compost pile, appropriate bins and methods for our geographic area, tips and troubleshooting, and much more. This free workshop is taught by Melanie Nehls Burow, a Master Composter in Colorado.

Backyard composting is an effective way to reduce waste and pollution, fight climate change, and provide quality compost for use in gardens. Compost reduces the need for chemical fertilizers, suppresses plant diseases and pests, promotes higher crop yield, and improves water retention in soil.
