March 18 -Boulder City Council held a special session to hear from the public about the March 1 police confrontation of university student Zayd Atkinson who was picking up trash outside of his residence. Boulder police officer John Smyly drew and other responding officers drew either guns or tasers at Atkinson. Here one of his fellow students spoke to city council members and then turned to hug Atkinson while saying, “I’m glad you’re still here.”
